Fantastic Vanilla Ice Cream

I have been using this recipe for homemade vanilla ice cream for about 20 years, and it really is fantastic.  In fact, I have never had any other vanilla ice cream that I thought was better—and that includes homemade and store bought varieties.

I do have a disclaimer though:  This ice cream does have some uncooked eggs in it, so if that bothers you, you’ll want to find a different recipe.  If not, you’re in for a treat.  I promise you won’t be disappointed.  It’s delicious!

  2. Try it with 3 vanilla beans. Put them into the vita-mix with the half-and-half until beans are “pulverized” about 3 minutes. Add eggs for another minute then the rest of the whipping cream for 1/2 minute. Put back in refrigerator overnight to get full flavor of vanilla beans. Good luck. If you use organic ingredients will taste even better.
