If you’ve ever been to a Brazilian restaurant (such as Tucano’s here in Provo), you may have tried the Brazilian lemonade. It’s probably my number-one favorite beverage in the whole wide world, and I’m betting that if you’ve ever tried it, you love it, too. The funny thing about this lemonade is that there aren’t any lemons in it. It’s actually made from limes, and since limes can be quite sour, they require something really sweet to knock out their powerful punch. Enter sweetened condensed milk. Man, I love that stuff. It’s really bad news when I’m using it in a recipe that only calls for a portion of the can because I end up getting a spoon and eating the rest of it plain. So when I wrote this recipe, I planned on using the ENTIRE can. Oh sure, I still scrape out what’s left in the bottom for one tasty spoonful, but at least most of it goes into the lemonade!
You’re going to need two cans of Bacardi Margarita Mixer, which is non-alcoholic and can be found with the other frozen juices in your grocery store. You’ll also need sweetened condensed milk (yum!), sugar, water, and a fresh lime if you want to use it as a garnish.
Combine the Bacardi Margarita Mixer with the sweetened condensed milk, mixing well.
Add the sugar and water.
Serve over lots of ice. If desired, garnish each glass with a slice of fresh lime.
A Winner Dinners Original Recipe
2 10-ounce cans Bacardi Margarita Mixer
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup sugar
7 cups water
a fresh lime for garnish (optional)
Combine the Bacardi Margarita Mixer with the sweetened condensed milk, mixing well. Add the sugar and water. Serve over lots of ice. If desired, garnish each glass with a slice of fresh lime.
